Honours (or the equivalent) in Psychology with at least high honours standing (A- or 80%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have completed an Honours&#8217; research thesis in psychology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have passed advanced statistics with an A- or 80%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possess credit in a breadth of courses in line with the psychology major.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please note that meeting the minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee acceptance into the program.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"faculty-supervisor\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty Supervisor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be admitted, a professor must agree to supervise you. Because Faculty members don\u2019t provide us with their availability, it is best that you contact them directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our researchers are exploring psychology\u2019s major areas including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>cognitive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developmental<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>forensic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>personality and social<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find information about the professors in the area that interests you by visiting our <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/psychology\/research\/research-areas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Research Areas<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"required-documents\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>Applicants must provide the following documents:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1-page Statement of Intent &#8211; <em>should be a clear description of your research interests including the research question you wish to pursue. There is no required format, but do not exceed one page<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CV<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two academic references<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic transcript(s) and degree certificate(s) from each post-secondary institution attended (past and\/or current)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If applicable: Language Proficiency scores &#8211; <em>see below<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For more information on required documents, please visit the Graduate student <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.carleton.ca\/apply-online\/required-documents\/\">website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"language-proficiency\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Proficiency <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Proficiency in English is necessary to pursue graduate studies at Carleton University. All applicants whose first language is not English must satisfy this requirement in one of the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To present an official overall score of 80 on the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To present an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 97 on the internet-based test (IBT) with a minimum score of 24 in writing and speaking and a minimum score of 22 in reading and listening; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To present an official overall International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7.5, with a minimum of 7.0 in each band score; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To present an official overall score of 73 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum score of 73 in each Communicative Skill;
