Luc Mougeot is a Senior Program Specialist with the Education and Science Programme of Canada\u2019s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa. He currently manages a large portfolio of\u00a0 projects for advanced scholars from low and middle income countries, particularly for women in science and technology.<\/p>\n
From 2004 to 2014, Luc worked with IDRC\u2019s Canadian Partnerships Programme, with research grants to Canadian universities, Canadian learned societies and Canadian NGOs active in research and cooperation for development. From 1996 to 2004 Luc created and led IDRC\u2019s Program on urban agriculture, called Cities Feeding People. This programme played a key role in the creation of a global partnership on urban agriculture and food systems, called RUAF.<\/p>\n
Luc holds a doctorate in geography from Michigan State University, completed a post doc programme in Germany and the United Kingdom, and was seconded to the World Bank in Washington, DC. for research on environmental and social impacts of large development projects.<\/p>\n
Luc has authored, co-authored or edited over 70 publications.
