Biosketch<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is George. I am a biomedical scientist specialized in Human Pathobiology and Infection diseases. I am a holder of a Master\u2019s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands since 2013. I am currently a PhD student at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) studying the Epidemiology and Surveillance of Infectious Livestock Abortigenic agents in Northern Tanzania. I am also employed at NM-AIST as an Assistant Lecturer at the School of Life Sciences since March 2016.<\/p>\n

Research Interests and societal interests<\/strong><\/p>\n

My research interests are in zoonoses, One Health and Surveillance. I am also interested in determination of the effect of climate change on the distribution of the infectious livestock abortigenic agents. I am also interested to determine the economic impact of livestock abortigenic agents to the livestock keepers.<\/p>\n

Expectations as a QES Scholar during the Mobility Period<\/strong><\/p>\n

My expectation are to acquire knowledge and skills on determination and analysis of environmental predictors that are affected by climate change and their association with pathogen distribution. Secondly, this will also be a good opportunity to establish long term collaborations with experts at Carleton University for future joint grant applications.<\/p>\n
