Mindful Eating 101: How to Get Started
February 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
|Audience:||Staff and Faculty|
You may have heard this term before, but what exactly is mindful eating and how can you apply this approach into your daily life. Mindful eating focuses on bringing our attention to our eating experience with all of our senses and noticing, without judgement, the emotional and physical responses that happen before, during and after the experience. The focus is more on how to eat, and less on what to eat.
This session will be presented by Ruba El Mokahal, Registered Dietitian with Carleton’s Dining Services.
About the Presenter: Ruba was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates and eventually moved to Montreal to pursue a degree in Dietetics at McGill University. She is passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food and has experience counselling a diverse range of clients in many different settings across the community. As Carleton Dining Services’ Registered Dietitian, Ruba is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining nutrition programming for students and faculty on campus. She cares about the wellness of the Carleton community and provides personalized nutrition counselling to any student living in residence.
