The purpose of this project is to identify and make recommendations on cost-effective improvements to the process for controlling access to the Athletics facilities. The goal is to minimize the number of non-members using the facilities and the number of members using facilities that are not included in their membership.
The recommendations were successfully implemented. As a result, the number of thefts in the athletics facility was reduced by 35%.
- Student Fee Payment Benchmarking Project - Finance

The purpose of this project is to identify and make recommendations on a more efficient and economical process for methods of payment and refund of student fees, and how payments are handled. The goal is to improve timeliness of information on the student fee system, to provide better service to students.
The recommendations were successfully implemented. As a result, the percentage of total transactions processed electronically increased from 59% to 77%; the number of refunds issued was reduced by 50%; line-ups at the Business Office were eliminated; and there was an increase in the on-line student fee payments from 61% to 73%.
- Student Residence Application Benchmarking Project - Housing and Conference Services

The purpose of this project is to examine and improve the process by which students apply for a room in residence, are assigned a room, and move in to a residence. The goals of the project are to improve the residence application process so student satisfaction levels are increased and resources (staff and financial) are used optimally, and to ensure that the residences have a vacancy rate of no more than 1%.
The recommendations were successfully implemented. As a result, the cycle time to respond to and accept applications to residence improved by three months; residence revenue increased by $400,000; and the vacancy rate for residence was reduced from 3.5% to under 1%
