The goal of this project is to research best practices in recruiting, engaging and retaining students in science programs through the use of a science cohort model. This project will explore the opportunity to facilitate the success of science students by having groups of students take their labs, workshops and tutorials for required courses together.
The objectives of this project are:
- To identify new, innovative, and cost effective ways to offer a science cohort model
- To identify how to incorporate a science careers seminar into the cohort stream
- Increase the retention and engagement of science students
- Increase the recruitment of top science students who are looking for a cohort-based program that will help them attain their career goals and/or get into medical school

- Career Services Benchmarking - Co-op and Career Services
The goal of this benchmarking project is to review the student services provided by units that support the career development of Carleton University students, the impact of these services on student employment numbers, and to identify opportunities for alignment and collaboration in service delivery including possible fiscal efficiencies.
The objectives of this project are:
- To identify all of the career development opportunities on campus for Carleton students
- To identify opportunities for alignment and collaboration among the departments offering these services
- To inform the organizational and functional design of the central career centre
- To identify possible efficiencies in assisting students to use existing resources
