Partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"collect-and-analyze-external-original-research-data\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collect and analyze external original research data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Obtain information from experts in the field (e.g., consultants, professional associations, universities, research organizations, authors)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exchange information with one or more Benchmarking Partners (e.g., surveys, telephone interviews, site visits)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compare external data collected to the internal data collected<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Identify opportunities for improvement by determining where the performance of the Benchmarking Partner&#8217;s process and\/or policy is superior<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Evaluate each opportunity for improvement to determine if it would have a positive impact on either the organization or the customers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> List the root cause for each opportunity for improvement that has been
