A Dene beamer for dehairing pelts is made from a 20-25 cm long metapodial, split such that two inner overhanging cutting edges are created, which effectively remove hair to make hide for use in clothing, moccasins, tents and rope.<\/p>\n

A flesher can be a metapodial or other longbone with serrated teeth at a sloping end for removing fat, meat and faschia. It often has a rawhide loop at its opposite end for exterting more pressure.<\/p>\n
