Conclusions<\/h2>\n

Basalt artifacts occur throughout the Beverly range, but their foci are at KkLn-4 on the lower Dubawnt River and KeNi-4 on the Thelon headwaters. Basalt surface exposures are ubiquitous rangewide, but few exposures yielded tool quality basalt, a shock-resistant stone eminently suitable for axes, adzes, chisels and picks. Being mainly woodworking tools, it is thought that KkLn-4 provided most of the tools, and from there were carried not only up the Dubawnt River but also down the Thelon from KeNi-4, a key treeline aggregation camp.<\/p>\n
