On the Virtual Machines in our Linux RCDC compute cloud, X2Go is not normally installed.&nbsp; But if you have a use-case for it, please contact the RCS team and we can help you to set up X2Go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"installing-x2go-client\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installing X2Go Client<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The X2Go Client is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux.&nbsp; To download a Mac or Windows installer, visit this page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.x2go.org\/doku.php\/download:start\">https:\/\/wiki.x2go.org\/doku.php\/download:start<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"connecting-to-x2go-server\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connecting to X2Go Server<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A member of the RCS team will give you connection information, including username\/password and IP address.&nbsp; They are the same settings as used by SSH software such as MobaXterm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"to-connect\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">To connect:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/remote-access\/\">Carleton VPN<\/a> if off-campus or on wireless<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launch the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.x2go.org\/doku.php\/download:start\">X2Go Client software<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Session <\/strong>menu, click <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">New Session<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The first time you run X2Go on Windows, you might be asked to allow a few X2go connections through your Windows Defender Firewall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the following settings:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Host<\/strong> to the provided IP address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the&nbsp;<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Login <\/strong>to the provided username<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Session type<\/strong> to <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">MATE<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally, on the Input\/Output tab, select your preferred display size<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">OK <\/strong>to close the session dialog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"586\" height=\"797\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of the Session Preferences page  with circles around key information. \" class=\"wp-image-672\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1.png 586w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1-160x218.png 160w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1-240x326.png 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1-400x544.png 400w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/rcs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/x2go-01-newsession-1-360x490.png 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 586px) 100vw, 586px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>6.
