Software programs and computer code are generally protected by the Copyright Act, and may be protected by other intellectual property laws in Canada and worldwide. These terms apply to all code, programs, and projects developed by or in collaboration with Research Software Development (\u201cRCS\u201d).<\/p>\n

By engaging RCS\u2019s services (the \u201cServices\u201d) in connection with your research activities, you agree to the following terms.<\/p>\n

  1. You authorize RCS to use your research, suggestions, input, know-how, and other intellectual property as may be necessary for the provision of the Services.<\/li>\n
  2. You authorize RCS to post any software and code developed in the course of the Services under a GNU General Public License and on the RCS GitHub page.<\/li>\n
  3. All software and code developed in the course of the Services by RCS is the intellectual property of Carleton University. You are permitted to use such software and code in connection with your research, as well as educational and scholarly activities at Carleton University.<\/li>\n
  4. Software and code developed by RCS may not be sold, sublicensed, or otherwise commercialized without the express written permission of Carleton University.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
