- Inclusion Week 2020
The goal of Inclusion Week is to raise visibility and awareness of the value of human rights work and EDI, explore practical ways to integrate its principles into our organizational structures and culture, and strengthen the potential for prosperity in the community. In a time of great transition, this year we will investigate subjects and experiences related to inclusion at a time of pandemic response, racial reckoning and technological transformation. The READ Initiative hosted a panel titled “Accessibility in Times of Transition”. This panel discussion examines how this commitment to accessibility has been further shaped and informed by COVID-19 and how this will impact the transition to a new reality of higher education and the workplace with accessibility as a new norm. - THATCamp - Accessibility
In conjunction with Instructor Shawn Graham and student Hollis Pierce from the department of History, READ jointly hosted a The Humanities and Technology (THAT) un-conference on October 27, 2012 in the new Residence Commons meeting facility. THAT Camp is a well-established phenomenon but this was the first with an emphasis on accessibility and included virtual participation, allowing additional participants to join in remotely.
