Exploring deaf people\u2019s desires to create habitable worlds and grappling with their futures amid a surge in biotechnical interventions and disability rights activism, Dr. Michele Friedner, Associate Professor in the Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago, will provide an overview of her new book Sensory Futures: Deafness and Cochlear Implant Infrastructures in India. Dr. Friedner will join in discussion with Carleton Critical Disability Studies Professors Drs. Marie-Eve Carrier Moisan and Kelly Fritsch, and PhD student Kendal David. Event participants will then have a chance to ask questions and engage in dialogue with Dr. Friedner.<\/p>\n
