Dr. Mojtaba Ahmadi<\/h3>\n
Dr. Ahmadi\u2019s research is in rehabilitation robotics, assistive devices, human-machine interaction, sensing, control theory, and overall biomechatronic systems development. In addition to general robotic application areas, his research covers robotics for patient mobility, stroke rehabilitation, fall detection and prevention, and balance enhancement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Claire Davies has practiced as a rehabilitation engineer and her research focus includes biomechanics, motor control, and design. Her main goal is to develop assistive technology to improve the lives of individuals with cerebral palsy, visual impairment, muscular dystrophy, and older populations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dr. Frankel is an industrial designer whose work focuses on sensory aspects of design and technology for special populations. Her expertise lies in qualitative User-Centered design research combining sensory anthropology and design approaches. Areas of research interest include: Interaction Design, Participatory Design, Sensory Design Detailing, User Experience Design, and Wearable Computing. She is currently the Sensory Design Editor of the Routledge journal, \u201cThe Senses and Society.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Audrey Girouard is a human computer interaction researcher pioneering novel interaction techniques, with a focus on deformable user interfaces applied to healthcare, accessibility and creative domains.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nicholas Graham is a computer scientist specializing in the design, implementation and evaluation of digital games, with specific focus on games for health. He leads the development of the Liberi exergame for children with Cerebral Palsy, and the Bootle Rumble physiotherapy game.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yvan Labiche is a software engineer by training. He is primarily interested in techniques, technologies and tools engineers deploy to verify and validate software, including software with a user interface. He is also interested in empirical software engineering, to bring cost-effective technologies to\u00a0practitioners.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Edward Lemaire is actively involved with research on technologies that improve mobility for people with physical disabilities. This research includes intelligent prosthetics and orthotics, robotic exoskeletons and smart wheelchairs, biomechanical walking analysis in 3D virtual environments, smartphone approaches to improve clinical decision-making, and eHealth technology to enhance access to education and rehabilitation services. This research combines engineering, biomechanics, signal processing and machine learning, and clinical rehabilitation sciences.
