But creating an accessibility plan and implementing it can be challenging, especially for organizations that are developing plans for the first time. At this CAN Connect Forum, panelists with many years of accessibility planning experience will share their expertise, best practices, and tips related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Involving and including persons with disabilities in the process<\/li>\n<li>Drafting plans that lead to meaningful change within an organization<\/li>\n<li>Implementing plans and getting others on board<\/li>\n<li>Going beyond compliance and enacting culture change<\/li>\n<li>Where to go for advice, resources, and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This interactive forum will include breakout room conversations, a panel discussion, and a question-and-answer period.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists will include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Brault \u2013 Vice President, BDO Consulting \u2013 Strategy &amp; Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At BDO, Max leads a team of consultants who specialize in supporting organizations across Canada in the creation of accessibility plans. As a former Senior Advisor for the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Max has over twenty years of policy, employment equity, and workplace accessibility experience including playing a guiding role in the formation of the legislation that became the Accessible Canada Act.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pina D\u2019Intino \u2013 Founder, Aequum Global Access<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pina is a sought-out consultant and speaker that actively promotes accessibility and inclusion from both an executive and a grassroots perspective. She has more than 29 years of experience in a large global financial institution, and for the last 15 years has pioneered and founded a cross-institutional hub for accessibility and inclusion. In 2013, Pina received the QE2 Diamond Jubilee medal by Ontario\u2019s Lt. Governor the Honourable David Onley for her work in accessibility in employment.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Steven Woo \u2013 Lead, Accessibility Strategy and Planning, CNIB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steven is part of national team responsible for leading accessibility and inclusion, providing training and thought leadership in the development and oversight of the multi-year accessibility plan at CNIB. Steven\u2019s mission is to develop transformational strategies that create action to drive change and benefit.
