Carleton Community Oral History Collection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Call for volunteer participants!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carleton University Corporate Archives is currently seeking volunteer staff, faculty, and alumni to participate in oral history interviews <\/span>regarding <\/span>their time and association with the school. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this oral history project is to document and preserve an account of participants\u2019 experiences at Carleton University, specifically:\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Past and Current\u202fstaff;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Board members;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Faculty, and<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Alumni.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The information gathered will help build a more fulsome and diverse\u202fnarrative of Carleton\u2019s development\u202fand be used for the purposes of studying the university\u2019s history. The interview, transcripts, and any accompanying documentation (e.g. photographs) will be part of the\u202f<\/span>Carleton Community Oral History Collection (CUREB-A #112854)\u202fof the\u202fCarleton University Corporate Archives. The interview and accompanying documentation will only be available to the public according to the parameters consented to by each participant.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Conditions of Participation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Carleton\u2019s story is the task eternal for the Corporate Archives! Your participation in this project may contribute to a greater understanding of the school\u2019s development and how its people helped to build it up. Your stories will become part of Carleton\u2019s history!<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Participation in the interview is completely voluntary.<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The interview will be conducted in-person at a mutually agreed upon location.\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The interview will be recorded by the interviewer using digital audio equipment.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The interview will consist of prepared questions, which the participant may review prior to the interview.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The participant may choose to discuss aspects of their experiences that are not covered by the prepared questions.\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The participant may also choose to not answer specific questions they do not want to.<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Interviews take approximately 1 hour but participants may request to pause the interview, take a break, or reschedule at any time during the process.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A transcription and a\u202fdigital\u202fcopy of the interview will be provided to the participant.\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
