As the September 30, 2017 deadline to withdraw from fall term and fall/winter courses approaches, the Registrar’s Office and the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs wants you to be aware of an important change to the Undergraduate and Graduate Calendars which may have an impact on your decision to withdraw by the deadline.
Section 2.3 of the Undergraduate Calendar and Section 10.2 of the Graduate Calendar have been updated and approved by Senate. These changes apply to all calendar years and to all Undergraduate, Graduate and Special students. Please take a moment to review these changes, but in summary:
- For courses starting September 1, 2017, and beyond, students who withdraw after the full fee adjustment date (ex. after September 30, 2017, for Fall 2017) will have a grade notation of WDN (Withdrawn) for that course appear on their official and unofficial Carleton University transcripts.
- Previously, courses withdrawn after the full fee adjustment date did not have WDN grades appear on their transcripts.
- This change is not retroactive – meaning, WDN grades will not appear on courses taken prior to September 1, 2017.
In addition to the University Calendars, these changes are detailed on the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office website.
