As per the Academic Consideration Policy<\/a>, if students encounter extenuating circumstances that temporarily hinder their capacity to fulfil in-class academic requirements, they can request academic consideration. The Academic Consideration for Coursework is only available for accommodations regarding course work. Requests for accommodations during the formal exam period must follow the official deferral process<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

\n As per the Policy, students are to speak with\/contact their instructor before submitting a request for Academic Consideration. Requests are not automatically approved. Approving and determining the accommodation remains at the discretion of the instructor. Short term academic consideration for course work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can apply for short term academic consideration for course work by submitting the\u00a0Academic Consideration for Coursework Form<\/a>\u00a0as per the following instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. C<\/em>onsult the course syllabus about the instructor\u2019s policy or procedures for requesting academic consideration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Contact your instructor(s) as soon as possible and normally no later than 24 hours after the submission deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Fill out this form as requested<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Complete and submit course work per academic consideration, if granted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Long term academic consideration for course work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    You can apply for long term academic consideration for course work by submitting the Long Term Academic Consideration Request Form<\/a> as per the following instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Consult the course syllabus about the instructor\u2019s policy or procedures for requesting academic consideration<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Contact your instructor(s) as soon as possible and normally no later than 24 hours after the submission deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. If supporting documentation is requested by your instructor, submit the document(s) via email to academicconsideration@carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Complete and submit course work per academic consideration, if granted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Final Exam Deferral<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
