\n The Academic Consideration for Coursework Form closed as of 8:30am on Thursday April 9 as classes ended on April 8 for the winter 2026 term. Requests for Academic Consideration can no longer be submitted. For Formal & Take Home Exam Deferral requests, students must follow the\u00a0official deferral process<\/a>. \n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Students are to complete this form if instructed to do so by their instructor for short term requests as per the Academic Consideration Policy<\/a>. Students should consult the course syllabus about the instructor\u2019s policy or procedures for requesting academic consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coursework is defined as academic work assigned to students not including formally scheduled final examinations and take-home exams. Requests for accommodations during the formal exam period must follow the official deferral process<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the Academic Consideration Policy<\/a>, if students encounter extenuating circumstances that temporarily hinder their capacity to fulfil in-class academic requirements for a period that is five days or less, they can request academic consideration as per the following instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. C<\/em>onsult the course syllabus about the instructor\u2019s policy or procedures for requesting academic consideration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Contact your instructor(s) as soon as possible and normally no later than 24 hours after the submission deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Fill out this form as requested<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Complete and submit course work per academic consideration, if granted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Extenuating circumstances are circumstances that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • are beyond a student\u2019s control<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • have a significant impact on the student\u2019s capacity to meet their academic obligations; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • could not have reasonably been prevented<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
