Even if you are readmitted to Carleton in an alternate degree program, please note that you will not be eligible to return to your original program at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*The Bachelor of Engineering and the Bachelor of Industrial Design must be completed within a specified timeframe. Students who do not complete their program requirements within this time limit will be given the status Continue in Alternate (CA). Please visit the program-specific regulations in the Undergraduate Calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When applying to a new degree, consider the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To be admitted as an internal transfer, you must be Eligible to Continue as prescribed by the minimum academic requirements of the new program;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must also meet any other general admission requirements (e.g., high school prerequisite courses);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generally, any courses previously attempted (both passed and failed) will count towards your new degree and will often count as electives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have identified the alternate degree program that you wish to pursue, you should meet with an advisor at the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/aac-request-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Academic Advising Centre<\/a>&nbsp;to review your options. You may apply online to change your degree using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.carleton.ca\/applicant-type\/internal-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Internal Admissions Application<\/a>&nbsp;available on the Admissions website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that deadlines apply for transferring internally to another degree program (for instance, from B.A. to B.Sc.) and only a few programs offer admission outside of the normal Fall term start. Students are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible to allow adequate time for processing. Please review the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.carleton.ca\/applicant-type\/internal-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Internal Application<\/a>&nbsp;for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This change to your academic status may affect your eligibility for OSAP or other provincial student financial aid programs. It is recommended you reach out to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/awards\/contact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Awards Office<\/a>&nbsp;to discuss any potential impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are an International student, a decision of Continue in Alternate will likely have an impact on your immigration status, your eligibility to live in residence, and\/or affect your continued coverage in the UHIP program. requirements to be Eligible to Continue (EC), <a current term courses, you will be withdrawn from any future term registration and your status will be changed to Special Student effective the current term; however, you may wish to consider adjustments to your registration, and it is recommended that you <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/aac-request-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contact the Academic Advising Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If, as a result of this decision, you wish to withdraw from your current term courses, please make sure that you withdraw yourself in Carleton Central <a href=\"https:\/\/students.carleton.ca\/academic-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">before the published deadlines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that even if you are successful in your current term courses, your Academic Continuation Evaluation decision will not change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you withdraw from current courses within the academic withdrawal deadline but after the deadline for a tuition adjustment, and wish to inquire if you may be eligible to submit a petition for a tuition adjustment, you must contact the Registrar&#8217;s Office by e-mail at <a href=\"mailto:registrar@carleton.ca\">registrar@carleton.ca<\/a> within 14 calendar days from the date your Academic Continuation Evaluation decision is posted in Carleton Central.<\/p>\n\n\n
