{"id":1737,"date":"2026-03-25T15:08:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T19:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registration\/?page_id=1737"},"modified":"2026-03-30T10:11:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T14:11:49","slug":"ou-at-cu-summer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registration\/ou-at-cu-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"OU at CU summer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n            <div class=\"cu-textmedia flex flex-col lg:flex-row mx-auto gap-6 md:gap-10 my-6 md:my-12 first:mt-0 max-w-5xl\">\n        <div class=\"justify-start cu-textmedia-content cu-prose-first-last\" style=\"flex: 0 0 100%;\">\n            <header class=\"font-light prose-xl cu-pageheader md:prose-2xl cu-component-updated cu-prose-first-last\">\n                                    <h1 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px text-3xl md:text-4xl lg:text-5xl lg:leading-[3.5rem] pb-5 after:w-10 text-cu-black-700 not-prose\">\n                        Checklist for uOttawa Students Registering at Carleton University on the Exchange Agreement (Summer)\n                    <\/h1>\n                \n                                \n                            <\/header>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"important-notes-about-participating-in-the-exchange\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Notes About Participating in the Exchange<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>uOttawa students can apply for the exchange to Carleton University if the course(s) they are seeking is essential to their program, is not offered at uOttawa, or if the addition of this course would count towards the requirements of their current undergraduate degree program<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that requests to audit undergraduate courses are not permitted through the exchange agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"how-to-register-in-the-exchange-program\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How To Register in the Exchange Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Summer term registration for uOttawa students wishing to study at Carleton University as part of the exchange begins April 1, 2026 and continues until May 12, 2026 for early summer courses; until May 20, 2026 for full summer courses; or until July 8, 2026 for late summer courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>uOttawa students are to submit an Undergraduate Exchange request electronically and obtain the appropriate approval(s) from their Faculty and Registrar at uOttawa.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please note that if approved, the request authorizes participation in the exchange program but does not guarantee access to the requested course(s) at Carleton University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>uOttawa exchange students are to apply to Carleton University\u2019s Registrar\u2019s Office by submitting the online <a href=\"https:\/\/payments.carleton.ca\/registrar\/university-of-ottawa-exchange-personal-information-form-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Ottawa Exchange Personal Information Form<\/a> along with a copy of their uOttawa transcript (unofficial is acceptable) and the approved uOttawa Undergraduate Exchange form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Registrar\u2019s Office is responsible for registering students participating in the exchange.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Registrar\u2019s Office will attempt registration into the course(s) that is approved on the exchange form in collaboration with the academic department(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please note that the Registrar\u2019s Office requires both the course number and section for the course(s) (ex. PSYC 2400 A) in order to proceed with registration. This information is available by checking the <a href=\"http:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/prod\/bwysched.p_select_term?wsea_code=EXT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Public Class Schedule<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration into a course(s) is not guaranteed as it depends on course availability, prerequisites, and departmental approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>uOttawa exchange students looking to register into Business (BUSI) courses must <a href=\"https:\/\/sprott.carleton.ca\/registration\/#OtherStudents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obtain approval from the Sprott School of Business<\/a> to register before the Registrar\u2019s Office is able to proceed. Once reviewed by the Sprott School of Business, the student and the Registrar\u2019s Office will be notified. If approved, the Registrar\u2019s Office will complete the registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Registrar\u2019s Office will notify the uOttawa exchange student via email (uOttawa email) of their registration and whether registration was successful or not. Once notified, the student must return to their Faculty Office at uOttawa within the established registration deadlines to complete the registration process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students from uOttawa who are registered in one or more credit courses at Carleton University are issued a MyCarleton One Account. <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/all-services\/email\/carleton-student-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More information is available at the Information Technology Services (ITS) website<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The account enables users to read their email, access Brightspace, as well as personal announcements and campus announcements. Please note that ALL correspondence as a student must be done through their Carleton email (once activated). <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/all-services\/accounts-and-passwords\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instructions for activating the email account <\/a>are available on the Information Technology Services\u2019 (ITS) website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"additional-considerations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"verify-your-schedule\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verify your Schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before the first day of classes, you must <a href=\"https:\/\/360.carleton.ca\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_lgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">verify your timetable online through Carleton Central<\/a> to ensure that you have the most up to date information about your course(s), location(s), and instructor(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not register in a course conflict when participating in the exchange agreement. Students who choose to register in a course conflict will not be eligible for special consideration or accommodations because of the conflict.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"exams\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exams<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can verify your exam schedule once it is released <a href=\"https:\/\/360.carleton.ca\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_lgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">through Carleton Central<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mobileapp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carleton Mobile<\/a>. You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ses\/examination-services\/exam-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view the Carleton University exam schedule<\/a> at the Examinations website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are advised to verify your exam schedule at both institutions as soon as it is available to avoid problems with any exam conflicts. If a conflict should occur, it is to be resolved at uOttawa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"final-grades\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Grades<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can view your final grade(s) <a href=\"https:\/\/360.carleton.ca\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_lgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online through Carleton Central<\/a> under Student Records \u2013 myGrades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carleton University will notify uOttawa when your grade(s) are finalized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registrar\/student-documents\/transcripts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an official copy of your final grade(s)<\/a>, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/360.carleton.ca\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_lgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">order a transcript online through Carleton Central<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"withdrawal\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Withdrawal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>uOttawa exchange students wanting to withdraw from courses at Carleton University must withdraw within the deadlines at Carleton University. This <a href=\"mailto:registrar@carleton.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">request must be made electronically via their Carleton email<\/a> to the Registrar\u2019s Office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If students are entitled to any financial reimbursements, uOttawa will make the necessary adjustments. The Carleton University Registrar\u2019s Office will provide the necessary documents to the Registrar\u2019s Office at uOttawa to update the academic and financial file. There is no guarantee that a withdrawal using <a href=\"http:\/\/calendar.carleton.ca\/academicyear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carleton University&#8217;s dates<\/a> entitles students to a reimbursement at uOttawa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"petitions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Petitions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Any petitions for missed deadlines or university rules and regulations surrounding courses taken on the exchange must <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registrar\/petition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">follow the process at Carleton University<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any outcomes that affect your academic or financial status will be communicated to uOttawa for the appropriate adjustments to be made to your academic and financial file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"ancillary-fees-if-applicable\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ancillary Fees (if applicable)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Additional fees (i.e. field trip, learning materials, library) may be added to your student account at Carleton University. You must <a href=\"https:\/\/360.carleton.ca\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_lgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check your financial account regularly in Carleton Central<\/a> to view these charges as you are responsible for these fees. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For more information, <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentaccounts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visit the Student Accounts Office website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"cu-mobile\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">CU Mobile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carleton University has a suite of mobile applications called CU Mobile. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With this app, you can check class schedules, view grades, navigate around campus with the campus map, and more!
