however, there are some factors which may restrict the course availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/prod\/bwysched.p_select_term?wsea_code=EXT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view the course offerings on the\u00a0Public Class Schedule<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree students are given priority within the course registration system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some courses are restricted to degree students only, such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First-year seminars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Journalism, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Industrial Design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These restrictions will be indicated in the course description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some undergraduate and all graduate courses require the permission of the department or individual instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you wish to eventually take a degree program <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.carleton.ca\/undergrad\/regulations\/admissions\/general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">note the specific\u00a0Faculty requirements for Special and Mature entrants\u00a0in the Undergraduate Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who have not completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent may need to update their qualifications by enrolling in courses at the Qualifying-University year level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.carleton.ca\/contactandgeneralinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contact the\u00a0Admissions Office<\/a>\u00a0for any questions on admission to degree or certificate programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carleton University attempts to make courses available to all students for registration;
