Cummins\u2019 teaching and research interests include contemporary Islam, the sociology of religion, the anthropology of religion, religion and migration, religion and identity, religion and society, religion and politics, religious literacy, and religion and social change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-ogsb=\"white\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(192, 0, 0)\" data-ogsb=\"white\">In addition to teaching, Cummins is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project (University of Ottawa), examining nonreligious identity and nonreligious immigrant identities and recently concluded a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for the Transmission of Religion Across Generations project (University of Ottawa) \u2013 examining how (non)religion is passed on from one generation to the next and the factors that contribute to the (un)successful transmission of religion across generations.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\">Cummins also\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(192, 0, 0)\" data-ogsb=\"white\">serves on the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion (CSSR) book prize committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Publications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cummins, Alyshea<\/strong>. \u201cMaking Space Through Public Engagements: Canadian Ismaili Muslims.\u201d In <em>Bloomsbury Handbook of Religion and Migration<\/em>, edited by Rubina Ramji and Alison Marshall.
