Endowed 1982.<\/p>\n<h3>Andras Memorial Award<\/h3>\n<p>To support the cost of a research project or paper undertaken by an undergraduate or graduate student attending Carleton University. This grant is awarded in alternate years for a research project in one of the following areas: (a) Jewish studies; (b) trade union history or the democratic socialist movement in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Endowed 1972 in memory of the late Mr. A. Andras, a member of Carleton&#8217;s Board of Governors. Revised 1978.<\/p>\n<h3>Bertha F. Davis Award in Religion<\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually to an outstanding student enrolled in the B.A. or Honours program in the Department of Religion at Carleton University.<\/p>\n<p>Donor: Bertha Florence Davis. Endowed 1977.<\/p>\n<h3>Imam Tawfiq Shaheen Memorial Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>This scholarship was established in 1998 by the Ottawa Muslim Association in memory of the late Dr. Tawfiq Shaheen who was the Imam of the Ottawa Mosque from 1980-1997. It is awarded annually, when merited, on the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, to a full-time student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program who undertakes a research project embracing, among other Islamic subjects, Islamic religion, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic art, Islamic history, Islamic culture, Islamic ethics or Islamic philosophy.<\/p>\n<h3>Louis and Miriam Goldstein Book Award in Judaic Studies<\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually to a deserving Carleton University student in Judaic studies, on the recommendation of the Department of Religion.<\/p>\n<p>Donors: Louis and Miriam Goldstein. Established in 1983 in honour of Carleton University&#8217;s Fortieth Anniversary.<\/p>\n<h3>Robert E. Osborne Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the College of Humanities, to an undergraduate student in the Religion program. Preference, in order, will be given to the students studying in the areas of New Testament, Biblical and other forms of religious studies.<\/p>\n<p>Endowed in 1986 in memory of Robert E. Osborne who was a professor in the Department of Religion. Revised 2004.<\/p>\n<h3>Maurice Price Foundation Travel Bursary <strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the College of Humanities to students who are travelling abroad for study in fulfillment of their curricular requirements. Such initiatives may include attendance at archeological summer field schools, travel courses offered through the College or other travel opportunities approved by the Director.<\/p>\n<p>Endowed in 2016 through the generosity of the Maurice Price Foundation. Contact dept for more information.<\/p>\n<h3>Maurice Price Foundation Summer Research Internships<\/h3>\n<p>Endowed in 2016 through the generosity of the Maurice Price Foundation, internships are made available annually by the Director of the College of the Humanities, to promising, full-time students proceeding from one year to another in a program within the College of the Humanities. These internships are intended to assist full-time returning undergraduate students in gaining summer research experience.<\/p>\n<p>Students are invited to submit a research project that they propose to work on during the summer of 2026 in collaboration with a College faculty member. This summer we have one internship worth $3000, for which the awardee is expected to conduct 120 hours of research. This represents a time commitment of at least a .5 credit course and recipients are required to a) have regular meetings with their supervisor and b) produce a report on their research, or a potential colloquium presentation, equivalent to a major term paper.<\/p>\n<p>Interested students should send an application by email with the following information to the Undergraduate Administrator, <a href=\"&#109;&#97;&#x69;&#x6c;&#116;&#111;&#x3a;&#x61;&#110;&#100;&#x72;&#x65;&#97;&#46;&#x6d;&#x63;&#105;&#110;&#x74;&#x79;&#114;&#101;&#x40;&#x63;&#97;&#114;&#x6c;&#x65;&#116;&#111;&#x6e;&#x2e;&#99;&#97;\">Andrea McIntyre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Resum\u00e9 with student number and year\/program indicated.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed description of a proposed research project (no more than one single-spaced page), setting out the project you would like to research and what skills and experiences you hope to gain through this program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A statement of support from a College faculty member who is willing to supervise the project is also required and may be sent separately to Andrea.
