Possible research areas include robotics and control with applications to guidance, navigation and control of unmanned vehicles. All projects will include both a theoretical and an experimental component enabling you to become a well-rounded researcher.<\/p>\n<p>While working in our research group students are expected to have\/gain experience in one or more of the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theory: Nonlinear Control, Optimal Control, Adaptive Control, Nonlinear Filtering, Kalman Filtering, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Control, Multi-variable Control, Consensus Estimation\/Control<\/li>\n<li>Software: MATLAB\/SIMULINK, Maple, C\/C++, Python, ROS, CoppeliaSim, Gazebo, Linux, \u2026<\/li>\n<li>Hardware: IMUs, Microcontrollers, Opti-track motion capture system and ground truth, Drones, Mobile robots, &#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<h4>Graduate Students (MSc and PhD)<\/h4>\n<p>If you are a prospective graduate student looking to becoming part of our lab, please send an email, with subject \u201cProspective MSc\/PhD Candidate\u201d, to ( <a href=\"&#x6d;&#97;&#105;&#x6c;&#x74;&#111;&#58;&#x48;&#x61;&#115;&#104;&#x69;&#x6d;&#46;&#77;&#x6f;&#x68;&#97;&#109;&#x65;&#x64;&#64;&#99;&#x61;&#x72;&#108;&#101;&#x74;&#x6f;&#110;&#46;&#x63;&#x61;\">&#x48;&#x61;&#x73;&#104;&#105;m&#46;&#x4d;&#x6f;&#x68;&#x61;&#109;&#101;d&#64;&#x63;&#x61;&#x72;&#108;&#101;&#116;on&#x2e;&#x63;&#x61;<\/a> ) with the following details:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>CV \/ Resume,<\/li>\n<li>Status: Domestic (Canadian or Permanent Resident) or International<\/li>\n<li>Scanned copy of Transcript(s),<\/li>\n<li>IELTS 6.5 or TOELF IBT 86 (if your first language is NOT English and your most recent full-time education have NOT been in an English-language school system (country in which the primary language is English)),<\/li>\n<li>Research Statement,<\/li>\n<li>GoogleScholar and\/or Researchgate link (if applicable),<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: red;\">Also, please provide me with funding requirement<\/span>: no-fund \/ partial-fund \/ full-fund<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The graduate application can be submitted online <a href=\"http:\/\/graduate.carleton.ca\/apply-online\/\">here<\/a>. Note that an independent study is 1.5 credit, equivalent to 3 graduate courses.
