Gabriel Wainer

The “Outstanding Service Award” recognizes outstanding service to the Society by a member. Prof. Wainer has been the Chair of major SCS conferences that achieved substantial success for SCS including SpringSim and Wintersim, as well as being a founder of SimAUD; he is also the Special Issues Editor of SIMULATION, one of the Society’s regular publications. He has been a main contributor for the Society (VP Conferences, VP Publications, member of the Board of Directors, representative to the board of the Winter Simulation Conference and others). He is a Fellow of SCS.
The “Young Simulation Scientist” award honors outstanding scientists and engineers under 35-year-old who, early in their careers, demonstrated excellence and show potential for leadership at the frontiers of modeling and simulation. She helped organizing tracks at the Winter Simulation Conference, has been a Co-Chair for the track on Theory and Foundations of Modeling and Simulation and a member of the IPC of various SCS international conferences. In 2019, she obtained the DEVS Modeling and Simulation Ph.D. Dissertation Award, awarded during Spring Simulation Conference 2019, in Tucson, AZ.
