In this talk, I<br>\npresent my recent work on the data aggregation for mMTC. We<br>\ninvestigate a two-phase cellular-based mMTC network where MTDs<br>\ntransmit to aggregators (i.e., aggregation phase) and the aggregated<br>\ndata is then relayed to base stations (i.e., relaying phase). Due to<br>\nthe limited resources, the aggregators not only aggregate data, but<br>\nalso schedule resources among MTDs. Two scheduling schemes are<br>\nconsidered: random resource scheduling (RRS) and channel-aware<br>\nresource scheduling (CRS). By leveraging the stochastic geometry, we<br>\npresent a tractable analytical framework to investigate the<br>\nsignal-to-interference ratio (SIR) for each phase, thereby computing<br>\nthe MTD success probability, the average number of successful MTDs and<br>\nprobability of successful channel utilization, which are the key<br>\nmetrics characterizing the overall mMTC performance. The results<br>\nsuggest that the provision of more resources at the aggregation phase<br>\nis not always beneficial to the mMTC performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Speaker bio<\/strong>: Dr. Jing Guo is a research fellow at the Research School of<br>\nEngineering, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. She<br>\nreceived her BSc (first class honours) in electronics and<br>\ntelecommunications engineering from the Australian National<br>\nUniversity, Australia and the Beijing Institute of Technology, China<br>\nin 2012, and PhD degree in telecommunications engineering from the<br>\nAustralian National University in 2016.
