Title:<\/strong> MASSIVE MACHINE TYPE COMMUNICATION WITH DATA AGGREGATION AND RESOURCE SCHEDULING<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABSTRACT:<\/strong> To enable massive machine type communication (mMTC), data
\naggregation is a promising approach to reduce the congestion caused by
\na massive number of machine type devices (MTDs). In this talk, I
\npresent my recent work on the data aggregation for mMTC. We
\ninvestigate a two-phase cellular-based mMTC network where MTDs
\ntransmit to aggregators (i.e., aggregation phase) and the aggregated
\ndata is then relayed to base stations (i.e., relaying phase). Due to
\nthe limited resources, the aggregators not only aggregate data, but
\nalso schedule resources among MTDs. Two scheduling schemes are
\nconsidered: random resource scheduling (RRS) and channel-aware
\nresource scheduling (CRS). By leveraging the stochastic geometry, we
\npresent a tractable analytical framework to investigate the
\nsignal-to-interference ratio (SIR) for each phase, thereby computing
\nthe MTD success probability, the average number of successful MTDs and
\nprobability of successful channel utilization, which are the key
\nmetrics characterizing the overall mMTC performance. The results
\nsuggest that the provision of more resources at the aggregation phase
\nis not always beneficial to the mMTC performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaker bio<\/strong>: Dr. Jing Guo is a research fellow at the Research School of
\nEngineering, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. She
\nreceived her BSc (first class honours) in electronics and
\ntelecommunications engineering from the Australian National
\nUniversity, Australia and the Beijing Institute of Technology, China
\nin 2012, and PhD degree in telecommunications engineering from the
\nAustralian National University in 2016. Her research interest lies in
\nthe field of wireless communications, including machine-to-machine
\ncommunications and the application of stochastic geometry to wireless
