His dissertation, <em>\u201cA Hybrid Positioning System in a Non-Terrestrial Network for Urban Areas,\u201d<\/em> explores innovative ways to enhance positioning accuracy by combining satellite systems with terrestrial 5G\/6G networks and high-altitude platform systems (HAPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sce\/people\/yanikomeroglu\/\">Dr. Halim Yanikomeroglu<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sce\/people\/atia\/\">Dr. Mohamed Atia<\/a>, with contributions from <strong>Professor Paulo S. R. Diniz<\/strong>, Hongzhao\u2019s work received high praise from the examining committee.
