\n SCE Celebrates Winners of the 4th-Year Capstone Project Video Competition – 2026\n <\/h1>\n \n \n \n\n

Congratulations to All Our Capstone Teams!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCE extends its warmest congratulations to the three winning teams and their supervisors for their outstanding accomplishments. Their projects reflect the technical knowledge, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that are central to the Capstone experience.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Systems and Computer Engineering (SCE) is pleased to congratulate the winners of this year\u2019s 4th-Year Capstone Project Video Competition<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition showcased the creativity, technical expertise, and innovative thinking of our graduating students, who developed projects addressing a diverse range of real-world challenges. From aerial ice monitoring and smart retail technology to artificial intelligence and IoT security, the projects demonstrated the breadth of knowledge and skills developed through the Capstone experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an impressive field of submissions, three teams were selected for recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Place: Project #1<\/strong>0-UAV-Assisted System for Aerial Ice Thickness Profiling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hubert Dang, Abdullah Baseem, Karran Dhillon, and Suren Kulasegaram<\/strong>
Supervisor:<\/strong> Abdullah Kadri<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first-place team developed a UAV-Assisted System for Aerial Ice Thickness Profiling<\/strong>, demonstrating an innovative approach to monitoring ice conditions using unmanned aerial vehicle technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Place: Smart Self-Service Checkout System<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Project #43<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Mathias, Andrew Rivera, and Suveatha Karunakaran<\/strong>
Supervisor:<\/strong> Rose Gomar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking second place, the Smart Self-Service Checkout System<\/strong> team explored technology designed to improve the self-service shopping experience. Their project demonstrates how engineering solutions can be applied to address everyday challenges in retail environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third Place: AI for Enhanced IoT Security \u2013 Trust Management<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Owen Renette, Nolan Kisser, and Lakshman Chelliah<\/strong>
Supervisor:<\/strong> Mohamed Ibnkahla<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third-place project, AI for Enhanced IoT Security \u2013 Trust Management<\/strong>, explored the application of artificial intelligence to strengthen trust and security within Internet of Things (IoT) environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
