The course works in collaboration with Scholars at Risk (SAR), a non-profit organization to support their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scholarsatrisk.org\/action\/scholars-in-prison-project\/\">Scholars in Prison<\/a> Project. Throughout this seminar, we learn about the intersections of truth and fact and complicate the role of activism within academia to organize effective advocacy campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>As a class, we are promoting academic freedom while advocating for the release of imprisoned scholars in various countries; specifically, Belarus, China, India and Iran.
