The Royal Society of Canada is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2025 competition for the At-Risk and Displaced Academics and Artists (ARDAA)<\/strong><\/a> program. The application deadline is February 21, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Facilitated by the RSC College, ARDAA supports academics and artists from around the world who have been displaced through war, conflicts or threats of violence and who, prior to their displacement, were engaged in innovative and entrepreneurial research activity, demonstrating a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership and responsibility to their communities, and who were making meaningful contributions to society.<\/p>\n

The ARDAA program supports eligible candidates in three ways:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. By offering membership <\/strong>in the RSC College to up to two eligible applicants each year. Applications are invited from eligible candidates to be part of the 2025 cohort of the RSC College. More details about the application process and eligibility criteria are available online.<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. By offering mentorship <\/strong>from RSC Fellows and College Members. RSC Members interested in volunteering as mentors should contact ardaa@rsc-src.ca.<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. By hosting workshops<\/strong> to assist eligible candidates in navigating academia in Canada. This year’s workshop will be held in April in Ottawa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Get Involved<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A key aspect of the program is mentorship from RSC Members. The ARDAA program is seeking volunteers from across Canada and across disciplines to serve as mentors. The aim of the program is to connect candidates with mentors from the same institution\/region and\/or from the same discipline, and mentors are currently needed in all areas. The role of an RSC Mentor will be to support the candidate in navigating academia in Canada. RSC Members interested in volunteering as mentors should contact ardaa@rsc-src.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 royale du Canada est heureuse d\u2019annoncer que l\u2019appel \u00e0 candidatures pour le concours de 2025 du programme des Chercheurs et artistes en danger et d\u00e9plac\u00e9s (CADD)<\/strong><\/a> est ouvert. La date limite de d\u00e9p\u00f4t des candidatures est le 21\u00a0f\u00e9vrier 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Coordonn\u00e9 par le Coll\u00e8ge de la SRC, le programme des CADD vise \u00e0 soutenir les universitaires et les artistes du monde entier qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9s en raison d\u2019une guerre, d\u2019un conflit ou de menaces de violence et qui, avant leur d\u00e9placement, \u00e9taient investis dans une activit\u00e9 de recherche innovante et entrepreneuriale qui d\u00e9montrait leur engagement envers la collaboration interdisciplinaire ainsi que leur leadership et leur sens de la responsabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de leur communaut\u00e9, et qui apportait une contribution importante \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n

    Le programme des CADD soutient les candidats admissibles de trois fa\u00e7ons distinctes :<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. En offrant le statut de membre<\/strong> du Coll\u00e8ge de la SRC \u00e0 un maximum de deux candidats admissibles chaque ann\u00e9e. Les candidats admissibles sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 poser leur candidature pour faire partie de la cohorte de 2025 du Coll\u00e8ge de la SRC. De plus amples informations sur le processus de candidature et les crit\u00e8res d\u2019admissibilit\u00e9 sont disponibles en ligne.<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. En offrant un service de mentorat <\/strong>assur\u00e9 par des membres de la SRC et des membres du Coll\u00e8ge. Les membres de la SRC ou du Coll\u00e8ge qui souhaitent offrir b\u00e9n\u00e9volement leurs services en tant que mentors peuvent communiquer avec nous \u00e0 l\u2019adresse ardaa@rsc-src.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    3. En organisant des ateliers <\/strong>pour aider les candidats admissibles \u00e0 s\u2019orienter dans le milieu universitaire au Canada. Cette ann\u00e9e, l\u2019atelier se tiendra en avril, \u00e0 Ottawa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Un aspect cl\u00e9 du programme est le mentorat<\/em> fourni par les membres de la SRC. Le programme des CADD est \u00e0 la recherche de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles de toutes les r\u00e9gions du Canada et de toutes les disciplines qui accepteraient de servir de mentors. L\u2019objectif du programme est de mettre en relation les candidats avec des mentors du m\u00eame \u00e9tablissement (ou de la m\u00eame r\u00e9gion) et de la m\u00eame discipline. Nous avons actuellement des besoins \u00e0 combler dans tous les domaines. Le r\u00f4le d\u2019un\u00b7e mentor\u00b7e de la SRC est d\u2019aider le ou la candidat\u00b7e \u00e0 s\u2019y retrouver dans le milieu universitaire canadien. Les membres de la SRC qui souhaitent se porter volontaires pour assumer ce r\u00f4le sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 envoyer un courriel \u00e0 l\u2019adresse ardaa@rsc-src.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n
