The IT environment within the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is growing at a rapid rate. To accommodate the rapid growth and openings left behind by retirees, the CRA’s IT Branch is looking to hire a large number of summer students and new graduates to join their Information Technology Apprenticeship Program (ITAP). ITAP is a program that recruits individuals in computer science, information technology, information management, and/or related programs, for entry-level Computer Systems (CS-01) positions.

The ITAP offers participants:

  • The opportunity to work in areas of IT that match their talents and interests (including programming, data security, emerging technologies, business analysis, business intelligence, infrastructure, and much more)
  • 12 to 24 months of hands-on work experience
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement (including the opportunity to transition from apprentice (CS-01) to a permanent, full-time position (CS-02))

For students who are interested in pursuing a career in IT, a job with the CRA’s IT Apprenticeship Program could serve as a great starting point, otherwise it’s also a great summer job opportunity for any student that’s looking to expand their skill set, gain degree-related work experience, and add to their resume.

Interested students can register to attend the CRA IT Branch and IT Apprenticeship Program virtual information session (via Zoom) on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Students can register and access the Zoom meeting link and passcode on mySuccess (login via Carleton Central).

If anyone would like more information about the program, they can view the full job posting (job ID #108319) on mySuccess (login via Carleton Central).
