We are a research group in the Department of Health Sciences at Carleton University conducting a study titled “Investigating the views of Canadian young adults on blood donation screening policy.”

We are currently recruiting all Carleton students who donate or do not donate blood and are 18-24 years old for a 30-45 minute Zoom or telephone interview. There will be a pre-screening survey online and only eligible participants will take part in the interview. The interview will ask your views on sensitive and personal topics related to blood donor screening and will be audio recorded with your consent. If you would rather not be audio-recorded, you may still participate if you consent to the researcher taking notes during the interview. No compensation will be offered to participants.

We would be grateful if you would be able to share our invitation with your departmental student mailing list so that interested individuals may be able to reach out to our team.

We have provided attached materials for you to share via email. If you would preferer, please let us know and we will send material for you to share on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we are happy to chat more.

Our supervisor is Dr. Jennie Haw. Please direct any questions to Jaya Rastogi, researcher team member, at jayarastogi@cmail.carleton.ca. This research has been cleared by Carleton University Research Ethics Board-B (CUREB-B Clearance #115675.)
