It is important for students to communicate via their Carleton email so that faculty and staff know the authenticity of the sender. Secondly non-Carleton emails are subject to the terms that you have agreed to with said company. Some email providers do not adhere to privacy laws. Carleton university’s email provider has privacy terms that have been approved and vetted.
