Call for undergrad applicants: 2019 One HEALtH Student Challenge

September 25, 2019

Cost:Free
Audience:Current Students

Reminder: The CHAIM Centre and the Discovery Centre are hosting the 3rd annual One HEALtH (Human, Environment, & Animal Links to Health) Student Challenge, open to all Carleton undergraduate students! This year, students will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to design a plan for the Ottawa inner city area to create the environmental and social conditions that allow residents to care for and derive health benefits (mental & physical) from companion animals. Students must consider the necessary support systems, social attitudes, communications, programs and infrastructure that are needed to promote healthy human-pet interactions in a dense urban area.

This is a great opportunity to apply knowledge learned in class to a real-world problem!

After six weeks, students will present their strategy to a panel of judges who will choose a winning team. Members of the winning team will be awarded the opportunity to work in a research lab or with a faculty member for one term as a paid intern.

The deadline to apply is next Wednesday (September 25th)!
