CCSS Announcements – December 2021

Hey everyone! The end of the term is near. The CCSS team would like to wish you luck on your exams and end-of-term projects. Here’s what we have for you for the month of December!

December Events

We’re bringing back our annual CCSS Holiday Party to end the year:

  • CCSS Holiday Party (December 10, 6 PM) – Join us for the CCSS annual holiday party! Bring your holiday spirits to enjoy a night of laughter, games, and conversation. Stay tuned for more information on the event schedule!

And making sure we have tons in terms of academics:

  • Dev Club: December Meeting (December 1, 6 PM) – Dev Club is a great way to showcase your latest hack, app, discovery, or anything else you’ve been learning or working on!
  • CCSS Advent of Code (December 1 – December 24) – Advent of Code is an advent calendar full of daily code challenges. You can complete the problems along with fellow Carleton students by joining the CCSS leaderboard and CCSS solutions repository.
  • Is React the Next JQuery? (December 16, 6 PM) – Join us for a tech talk discussing the history, progression, and future of the frontend development ecosystem.

CCSS 2021-2022 Hoodies

You asked, we answered! We are now accepting orders for our new 2021-2022 hoodie until December 31st.

Orders can be placed on the CCSS Shopify store, with an expected pickup date of mid to late January. Orders will only be shipped to Carleton University and will have to be picked up at the CCSS Lounge (Herzberg 4135). Those who purchase hoodies will receive an email with more information closer to the shipment date. Your billing address will be used to confirm your pickup.

While the CCSS continues to operate online, you can join our community on our Discord server. There you’ll find CS students of all years, be able to ask questions about class and your program, and find more information on our events and initiatives! If you’re an undergraduate CS student, you’re automatically a member of our society, so come join us!
