- Executive Partner: Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre is one of Canada’s foremost mental health care, teaching, and research hospitals. Our mandate is simple: to help more people living with mental illness and addiction into recovery faster. We combine our specialized mental health care, advocacy, research, and education to transform the lives of people living with complex and treatment-resistant mental illness. We provide a broad array of inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services. We work together with numerous community partners to support people’s mental health across their lifespan and spectrum of needs. We also educate thousands of health care professionals each year and work to promote mental health everywhere we can.
- The Ottawa Police Service employs over 2,100 officer and civilian employees. Their Mental Health Crisis Unit (MHU) and its partners from The Ottawa Hospital’s Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) collaborate daily to support members of our community that are in crisis or require urgent connection to mental health support and resources. The mental health professionals of the Mobile Crisis Team and the specially trained officers of the Mental Health Crisis Unit routinely conduct visits in the community together to assist those in crisis.
- The From Intention to Action (FITA) program supports undergraduate and graduate students in the often stressful university experience. We help students to better manage stress and improve their academic performance, by navigating the personal stressors that can often get in the way of school. FITA students meet one-on-one with a Coordinator for one hour every week for 12 consecutive weeks. Our Coordinators are staff members or Master’s-level interns trained in counselling and psychotherapy.
