The Unified Support Centre is holding an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) course on the weekends of October 25th & 26th, 2025 and November 22nd & 23rd, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Registration for both dates are currently open!<\/p>\n

Courses are being offered at a reduced rate of $160 (tax included).<\/p>\n

ASIST\u00a0is a comprehensive, two day course consisting of audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations designed to teach you how to help someone with thoughts or plans of suicide. You will learn how to recognize signs of suicide, provide a skilled intervention, and develop a safety plan to help someone choose to stay alive.<\/p>\n

\nDates: October 25th & 26th, 2025 and November 22nd & 23rd, 2025
\nTime: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
\nLocation: In Person at Carleton University, room TBD
\nCost: $160.00 (tax included).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0ASIST\u00a0framework, and its instructors, are regulated by LivingWorks.<\/p>\n

FAQSs:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Once I sign up using the registration form, does that mean my spot is reserved?<\/b>
\nNo – your spot is not reserved until we have received your payment for the course. We will send a confirmation email to let you know you’ve been fully registered.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Will I get a certificate after the course is completed, and when does the certificate expire?<\/b>
\nYes, you will receive a certificate at the end of the course. The certificate does not expire, but it is recommended to retake the course every three years to stay updated on newer\/effective strategies.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Where will the course be held?\u00a0<\/b>
\nAt Carleton university, the room numbers will be sent to you a week in advance\u00a0of the course.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Is attendance on both days mandatory?<\/b>
\nYes, the first day provides comprehensive training on assisting someone with thoughts of suicide, while the second day focuses on roleplay and the final examination.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0What if I pay now to reserve my spot but can\u2019t attend the course?<\/b>
\nOur cancellation policy allows for a full refund if you cancel by:
\n– October Course: Friday, October 17th, 2025, before 5:00 PM.
\n– November Course: Friday, November 14th, 2025, before 5:00 PM.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0I sent the course payment, but my transfer has not been accepted yet. What should I do?<\/b>
\nYou can follow up regarding the status of your payment. Please be patient as spots are limited, and payments are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n
