Are you an incoming or returning CS student looking to get involved this year, but not sure how?<\/b> Well, look no further! To kick off (and close off) the Carleton Computer Science Society’s Week of Awesome<\/a>, we are collaborating with clubs and societies affiliated with the School of Computer Science (SCS) to bring you an exciting, virtual CS Clubs & Societies Information Session!<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will hold two identical sessions: one on Sunday, September 12 at 1:00 pm EDT<\/b> and one on Saturday, September 18 at 9:00 am EDT<\/b>. Each group will speak for approximately 5 minutes, and there will be a 30-minute Q&A session at the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Computer Science Society:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carleton Computer Science Society (CCSS) is an academic society that represents undergraduate computer science students at Carleton University. The CCSS proudly represents, advocates, and aims to create resources for all Carleton computer science students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Women in Computer Science:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women in Computer Science (WiCS) is a group organized by the School of Computer Science, Carleton University with the mission of establishing a positive environment for women in computing at all academic levels. Our goal is to develop a network of females in computing at Carleton that would allow them to share experiences and learn from each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Blueprint:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Blueprint is a student organization whose mission is to make beautiful engineering accessible and useful for those who create communities and promote public welfare. The Blueprint team works towards this by pairing with non-profits to develop pro-bono applications and promoting social good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technolgap:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technolgap is Ottawa\u2019s community for female post-secondary students in tech. Our slack group of over 200 members is a space to share internships, opportunities, and course resources, ask for career advice, and get involved in the community! All self-identifying female computer science students are welcome to join!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

cuHacking:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

cuHacking is a community that gives students the means to enhance their technical skills, make new friends, and create genuine connections with industry professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Artificial Intelligence Society:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAIS is a cross-disciplinary student-run society at Carleton dedicated to making the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning navigable and fun for anyone who might be interested, irrespective of their skillset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton Web Development Club:<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CWDC was formed with the intention to build a community of students\/faculty at Carleton interested in furthering their study of web development and related areas. The club aims to bring together students interested in web development to work on projects together, organize and take part in hackathons and other challenges, produce knowledge within the web domain, and assist in career development and industry connections. Past experience with web development is not a requirement. Any motivated students interested in web development are encouraged to take part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
