This has been done because it is the directors responsibility to keep SCS news aligned with the school&#8217;s vision.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Front page news<\/strong> &#8211; select &#8216;Carleton news&#8217; OR &#8216;Grad news&#8217; OR &#8216;World news&#8217; OR &#8216;CCSS News&#8217;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"tech\"><\/a>Tech Support Postings<\/h3>\n<p>Follow the &#8220;<a href=\"#posts\">Adding an SCS Post using WordPress<\/a>&#8221; instructions below. The Categories selection is very important because it will automatically add your post to the listings that are active on the SCS website. Here are the Tech Support <strong>categories<\/strong> (on the right hand side of the posts):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Linux<\/li>\n<li>Openstack<\/li>\n<li>Tech Archive<\/li>\n<li>Tech News<\/li>\n<li>Tech Tips<\/li>\n<li>Virtual Machines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"posts\"><\/a>Adding an SCS Post using WordPress<\/h3>\n<p>SCS posts are displayed in various locations depending on your categories selection.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-login.php\">Login to SCS wordpress<\/a><\/li>\n<li>At the top admin-bar hover over and select: &#8216;+ New&#8217; &#8211; Post<\/li>\n<li>On the new Post page enter the title in the &#8216;Add New Post&#8217; field<\/li>\n<li>Add the content you like in the main content area<\/li>\n<li>On the right hand side find the Categories section and select the applicable Categories. This tags your post and it will be added to any lists that are posted on the SCS website. <a href=\"#jobs\">SCS Job Categories<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Once you entered all the data press &#8216;Publish&#8217; on the top right hand side of the page<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"events\"><\/a>Adding an SCS Event using WordPress<\/h3>\n<p>All events will be displayed on the main SCS WordPress page:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-login.php\">Login to SCS wordpress<\/a><\/li>\n<li>At the top admin-bar hover over and select: &#8216;+ New&#8217; &#8211; Event<\/li>\n<li>On the new Post page enter the <strong>title<\/strong> in the &#8216;Add New Event&#8217; field<\/li>\n<li>Settings: You must set a <strong>start date<\/strong> as a minimum. There are various options for time, multiple day events, location.<\/li>\n<li>Some events do not have a <strong>cost<\/strong>, cost may not even be applicable. To remove the &#8216;Cost&#8217; field select: Event Content &#8211; Details &#8211; Show Cost &#8211; No. Otherwise select the cost or &#8216;free&#8217; as applicable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Event categories<\/strong>: select the appropriate audience. You need to make at least one selection on the &#8216;right hand side under &#8216;Categories&#8217;, in order for your event to be displayed.<\/li>\n<li>Enter all the detailed event information in the main content area<\/li>\n<li>Once you entered all the data press &#8216;Publish&#8217; on the top right hand side of the page<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This page is intended for SCS staff.
