This page will help you plan your courses and academic career as you complete your Bachelor of Cybersecurity degree program.<\/p>\n

When selecting your courses for the term, it is helpful to review the\u00a0<\/strong>Program Requirements<\/a> and your academic audit<\/a>. If you have questions regarding course selection, please contact our undergraduate advisor<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

      Welcome to Carleton and your Bachelor of Cybersecurity degree program! Please read this degree guide prior to registering.<\/p>\n\n

      <\/a>Academic Audit<\/h3>\n

      The academic audit is the \u2018road map\u2019 to academic success. It lists which courses you are required to take in order to complete your degree at Carleton. The audit will inform you of the progress you have already made, as well as show you the courses that you will need to take in the future. Remember to check your audit regularly to ensure you are fulfilling your degree requirements.<\/p>\n\n

      \n\t\tUnderstanding your Academic Audit \u2197<\/a>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

      <\/a>Prerequisites and Restrictions<\/h3>\n

      A prerequisite <\/i>is a course that must be successfully completed (with a minimum grade of D- or above unless otherwise noted) before you are able to register into the course. A course may also have additional restrictions<\/em> that require students be in a particular program, and\/or have a specific year standing (first, second, third of fourth) in order to register.<\/p>\n

      The School of Computer Science strictly enforces calendar prerequisites<\/strong>. \u00a0If you do not meet the prerequisite(s) of a COMP or CSEC course, <\/em>you will be deregistered. More information on deregistration can be found in Section 2.1.7 of the Undergraduate Calendar<\/a>. This also applies to DEF (deferred final exam); once the final grade for that course is posted, you will be deregistered from any current course if the prerequisite(s) is not met.\u00a0As deferred exams are always held after the registration period closes, if you are deregistered\u00a0you will not be able to add more courses to your class schedule. Please be aware that deregistration can happen at anytime during the term which may affect your status as a full-time student. Please see this link<\/a>\u00a0to determine who you should speak with if your student status changes. Please note that students with a GNA (grade not available) in a course may also be affected by this policy.<\/p>\n

      <\/a>Before you register<\/h3>\n

      Course registration is done online through Carleton Central<\/a>. \u00a0It is your one-stop service for registration, student records, admission, and fee information.<\/p>\n

      Refer to the Registrar\u2019s Office website<\/a> for how-to videos to assist you in navigating the Carleton Central registration system. You can view the registration open and deadline dates on the Registration Dates and Deadlines webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

      <\/a>After You Register<\/h3>\n

      Pay your tuition by the payment deadline each term to avoid penalties or late fees. The Student Accounts office has information on how to make a payment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

      <\/a>Course Patterns<\/h2>\n

      The Bachelor of Cybersecurity program was designed with the intention for students to progress together in cohorts, registering in the same core Major courses (COMP, CSEC) each term. It is recommended that all B.Cyber. students register in courses each term according to the course pattern listed below.<\/p>\n

      To allow students to progress as a cohort, the “A” section of all COMP courses (ie. COMP 2401 A, COMP 2402 A, etc.) required in your program will have reserved seating for students in the Bachelor of Cybersecurity program. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the reserved seating, and priority registration, to remain in sections with their cohort.<\/p>\n

      Students should refer to the course pattern of their Catalog Year.<\/strong> In most cases, a student’s Catalog Year will match the term a student was admitted to the B.Cyber. Program, but should be confirmed by reviewing your audit.<\/a> The Catalog Year is listed in the upper-right hand corner of the audit.<\/p>\n
