Use this if you want to send a message or share things repeatedly with the same group of people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hidden Circle is an open group that can be protected by a password. Select this circle to create a community not displayed as a Public Circle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Private Circle requires an invitation or a confirmation from an admin. This is the best circle if you are looking for privacy when sharing your files or your ideas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Public Circle is an open group visible to anyone that dares to join. Your circle will be visible to everyone and everyone will be able to join the circle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"link-sharing-options\">Link Sharing Options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-400x298.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6076\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-400x298.jpg 400w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-160x119.jpg 160w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-240x179.jpg 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-768x572.jpg 768w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options-360x268.jpg 360w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/260\/share-options.jpg 797w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 4 &#8211; Share link options<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you share the folder or file using a link, then the link can have the following options (figure 4):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allow editing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hide download<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Password protected<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set expiration date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>add a Note to the recipient<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delete the share link<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add another link<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>for your files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pico-cms\"><a id=\"picocms\"><\/a>Pico CMS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pico CMS is a flat-file, markdown, content management system that can host webpages within Nextcloud.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>What is?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flat-file<\/strong> &#8211; meaning there is no database back end&nbsp; all content is contained in files and directories<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Markdown<\/strong> &#8211; instead of HTML Pico uses Markdown, which is an intuitive plain text formatted language often used in Wiki&#8217;s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Content Management System (CMS)<\/strong> &#8211; software that manages your website content<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Nextcloud<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get started using Pico CMS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>log in to Nextcloud and choose Settings (top right-hand corner click on your account initial), then look at the left-hand side column and find Pico CMS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you will see a section called Create a new website. Fill out the form and click &#8220;create a new website&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a new entry will appear in the &#8220;Your current websites&#8221; section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you have the option of changing the theme from &#8220;default&#8221; to &#8220;SCS&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you can access your website URL using the current settings URL for your site<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>A number of files and start up directories are then copied to your Nextcloud files folder. There are sample files included that can get you started. The theme allows you to organize files into folders, and those folders automatically are linked in the header of your website.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"externalstorage\">External storage back-ends<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can connect storage from several different sources. If you wish to set up another external mount, please contact the SCS Tech staff.
