Are you a Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) or Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber.) student considering graduate studies?<\/p>\n

The MCS Accelerated Pathway allows eligible students a chance to fast-track their MCS studies, enabling students to reach their academic and career goals sooner!<\/p>\n

How it Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. At the end of the third year of studies, students express interest in the MCS Accelerated Pathway by emailing the SCS Undergraduate Advisors at scs.ug.advisor@carleton.ca<\/a> to request an audit review. The Undergraduate Advisors will confirm if the student has room on their audit for 1.0 credit in 5000-level COMP courses.<\/li>\n
  2. The SCS Graduate Director will review the student\u2019s audit and notify the student if they\u2019ve been admitted to the MCS Accelerated Pathway.<\/li>\n
  3. Accepted students can take up to two 5000-level COMP courses (ie. up to 1.0 cr) in their fourth year. BCS (Hons.) students may use these courses in place of 4th year COMP courses, and B.Cyber. students may use these courses towards their free elective requirements.<\/li>\n
  4. If the student wishes to pursue an MCS degree at Carleton, they must apply by the January 15th<\/sup> deadline. If admitted to the MCS program, the 5000-level COMP courses (up to 1.0 cr) taken as part of the BCS will be counted towards the MCS program requirements through \u2018Advanced Standing,\u2019 provided the grades achieved are B+ or higher. Advanced Standing will reduce the required courses needed in the MCS program, typically resulting in students completing their graduate program at a faster pace.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Requirements for Eligibility to the Accelerated Pathway\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Third year Standing in the BCS (Hons.) or B.Cyber. program with substantial completion of the required courses at the 3000-level and below.<\/li>\n
    2. A Major CGPA of at least 10.0.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note: Approved Accelerated Pathway students are not eligible to take COMP graduate courses at the University of Ottawa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
