It is sometimes called cunet, Exchange or Outlook for Faculty and Staff, and cmail for students. As of Jan. 2019, you have a 50GB email quota.<br \/>\n<em><strong>@carleton.ca<\/strong>, <strong>@cunet.carleton.ca<\/strong> and <strong>@cmail.carleton.ca<\/strong> email addresses and aliases are managed by ITS. Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/all-services\/email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> ITS Email Support<\/a> for assistance.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/https:\/\/exchange.carleton.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Office 365 Web Login<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Email Client Setup<\/a> &#8211; Instructions for setting up your email in Outlook and other third-party clients (Mac Mail, Phone, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">We strongly advise all Carleton employees and students to use Carleton&#8217;s email for Carleton&#8217;s business. We discourage forwarding Carleton email or communicating via a non-Carleton email provider.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>SCS has its own legacy <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCS email server<\/a>. Many of the faculty and staff have addresses <em>@scs.carleton.ca<\/em> which signifies the SCS email server. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/accounts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCS Online Account Management Tool<\/a> to setup or update your account.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-weight: bold;\">IMPORTANT<\/span>: <em>you must update your account every term!<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Services accessed using your SCS Account:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/computer-laboratories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Computer Laboratories<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/nextcloud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nextcloud<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-open-stack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Openstack<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-theta-linux-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCS Linux Network<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><!-- scs-account-info --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"scs-virtualization\">SCS Openstack and Virtual Machines for Courses &amp; Research<\/h2>\n<p>The school provides a variety of virtualization support both for teaching COMP courses, and to support research within the department.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-open-stack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Openstack<\/a> &#8211; provides compute resources to COMP courses for hosting servers or providing individual compute resources to every enrolled student<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/cuda-gpu-computing\/\">GPU Computing<\/a> &#8211; provide COMP courses with access to GPU compute resources via <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-open-stack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Openstack<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/virtual-machines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virtual Machines<\/a> &#8211; provide students with a pre-built environment that they can run on their own devices or in the cloud<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research Groups<\/strong> can also host their servers in the SCS <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/tech-support\/scs-open-stack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Openstack<\/a> which allows for near effortless management of the computing resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><!-- scs-virtualization --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"software-storage\">Software &#038; Storage<\/h2>\n<p>School of Computer Science students, faculty and staff have access to a variety of software packages through the School or through the University.
