How do we determine the optimal locations to serve communities or improve services? Dr. Bose will introduce two powerful geometric concepts, Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulations, that help uncover hidden patterns in such data, with applications ranging from city planning to biology.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The&nbsp;Herzberg Lecture&nbsp;is held annually in honour of&nbsp;Gerhard Herzberg, former Chancellor of Carleton University and recipient of the&nbsp;1971 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
