How do we determine the optimal locations to serve communities or improve services? Dr. Bose will introduce two powerful geometric concepts, Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulations, that help uncover hidden patterns in such data, with applications ranging from city planning to biology.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"839\">The\u00a0Herzberg Lecture\u00a0is held annually in honour of\u00a0Gerhard Herzberg, former Chancellor of Carleton University and recipient of the\u00a01971 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
