Two weekend sessions will be available in <strong>October and November 2026<\/strong>, and registration is now open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ASIST is a comprehensive two-day course that uses audiovisual materials, discussions, and simulations to teach participants how to support someone experiencing thoughts or plans of suicide. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of suicide, provide a skilled intervention, and develop a safety plan to help someone choose to stay alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"course-details\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> October 17 &amp; 18, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00 AM\u20135:00 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> In person at Carleton University (room to be announced)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>November Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> November 21 &amp; 22, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00 AM\u20135:00 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> In person at Carleton University (room to be announced)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $160 (tax included)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"registration\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration for both sessions is now open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/unifiedsupportcentre.ca\/applied-suicide-intervention-training\/#register\">Register for ASIST through the Unified Support Centre<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that submitting the registration form <strong>does not reserve your spot<\/strong>. Registration is confirmed only once payment has been received. Spaces are limited, and payments are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"frequently-asked-questions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Will I receive a certificate?<\/strong><br>Yes. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. The certificate does not expire, although participants are encouraged to retake the course every three years to stay current with newer and effective strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where will the course be held?<\/strong><br>The course will be held at Carleton University. The specific building and room number will be provided approximately one week before the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Is attendance on both days mandatory?<\/strong><br>Yes. Participants must attend both days. The first day provides comprehensive training on assisting someone with thoughts of suicide, while the second day focuses on roleplay and the final examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the cancellation policy?<\/strong><br>A full refund is available if you cancel by the applicable deadline:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>October session:<\/strong> Friday, October 9, 2026, before 5:00 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>November session:<\/strong> Friday, November 13, 2026, before 5:00 PM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What if my payment has not yet been accepted?<\/strong><br>You may follow up with the Unified Support Centre regarding the status of your payment. Please allow time for confirmation, as spaces are limited and payments are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the payment deadline?<\/strong><br>There is no set payment deadline. However, registration is not confirmed until payment has been received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What should I bring?<\/strong><br>Participants only need to bring a pen.
