In addition, the Senate Review Committee will respond to specific questions posed by Senate, based on the mandate of Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"responsibilities\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee will review and report annually on the \ufb01nances of the university, on student enrolment, and on matters related to the University Library. In addition, Senate may request that the committee prepare reviews of various aspects of support for teaching, learning and research. When possible, these reports should be coordinated with presentations to Senate from the administration on these topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee will gather and synthesize information from a broad range of sources, both internal and external to the University. The Committee will systematically review and summarize the information for presentation to Senate and provide a report to Senate. The Committee may also provide any advice to Senate regarding the question(s) being considered. The committee\u2019s reports will respect the constraints of con\ufb01dentiality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"membership\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Chair elected by Senate and chosen from the elected faculty membership of Senate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One faculty representative from each of the university\u2019s five Faculties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two undergraduate students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two graduate students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"quorum-and-voting\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quorum and Voting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Quorum and voting are by simple majority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"reporting\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reporting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee reports to Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"review\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These terms of reference will be reviewed every seven years or as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Updated: September 25, 1998, January 28, 2005, May 26, 2016, January 29, 2021, March 28, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Terms of Reference The Senate Review Committee reviews and reports to Senate annually on the Operating Budget Report, the Enrolment Report and the Library Report.
