In compliance with Ontario\u2019s Essential Services Order, Senate met remotely on Oct. 22, 2021.  Here are the highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 6,800 Graduates Confirmed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved the graduation of 795 undergraduate students and 575 graduate students. The total Carleton class of 2021 is now over 6,800 strong \u2013 the largest graduating class in the university\u2019s history. Virtual Fall graduation celebrations<\/a> at the university level will be held on Nov. 13, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senate Awards 53 Medals & Prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved 53 medals and prizes<\/a> for outstanding academic achievement. These included 14 graduate medals and 39 undergraduate medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safe and Gradual Return to Campus Continues in Winter 2022<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate confirmed that winter 2022 courses will be offered through a mix of face-to-face and online delivery to provide maximum flexibility for students, in line with the winter 2022 recommendations<\/a> of the Carleton University Scenario Planning (CUSP) Working Group<\/a>. Building on the successful fall term, CUSP recommends that Carleton proceed with its ongoing safe and gradual return to campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quality Assurance & Cyclical Reviews<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved the Final Assessment Reports and Executive Summaries arising from the Cyclical Reviews of the following programs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
