Senate met on October 21, 2022.  Here are the highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 1,200 Carleton Degrees Approved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved the graduation of 764 undergraduate students and 507 graduate students. Carleton congratulates each of its deserving graduates and looks forward to celebrating their achievements, in person, at this year\u2019s Fall Convocation <\/a>on November 12, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senate Awards 59 Medals & Prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved 59 medals and prizes <\/a>for outstanding academic achievement. These included 15 graduate medals and 44 undergraduate medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Engineering Program Approved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved the new Master of Engineering in Engineering Practice program as presented. The program will be in effect following Quality Council approval, which is estimated to be in Fall 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offered through the Faculty of Engineering and Design, the program has been created with the goal of elevating BEng graduates from recognized engineering institutions around the world towards accelerating their employability and integration into Canada\u2019s workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic Plan for Community Engagement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate received the final draft of Carleton\u2019s inaugural Strategic Plan for Community Engagement<\/a> (SP4CE) along with a presentation by Deputy Provost Catherine Khordoc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation outlined that as part of the planned roll-out, the task force will be forming a university-wide advisory group strengthened by community representation to govern SP4CE. Working groups will be instrumental in implementing university-wide and Centre-led activities to address the priorities of the plan in the short-term and longer view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan will be officially launched on October 28, 2022 and all Senators were invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quality Assurance & Cyclical Reviews<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senate approved the Final Assessment Reports and Executive Summaries arising from the Cyclical Reviews of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
