Back to School 5k & Kickback

The Back to School 5K & Kickback is a community event designed to challenge participants’ fitness and promote social interaction within the Afro-Caribbean Black community in Ottawa. The event begins with a 5K race along the Rideau Canal at 10:30 AM, followed by a BBQ/mixer and field day at Britannia Beach starting at 2:00 PM.
Participants will engage in a physical fitness challenge, enjoy delicious food, listen to music, and participate in fun summer games. The event aims to foster a sense of community and provide a platform for socializing and networking.
Attendees can choose to participate in either the race, the BBQ/mixer, or both. Prizes will be awarded. This event is organized in support of the Umoja Black Community Engagement Program, Black Run NCR, and uOttawa’s BSAAC and BSLA.
